Hurricane Erin - Update #1  

August 15, 2025 – 14:00 PM AST  

 

Per the National Hurricane Center: 

Hurricane Erin is currently east of the northern Leeward Islands, including St. Martin, and moving west-northwest. It is expected to pass near or just north of the islands on Saturday. Heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas are possible this weekend. 

 
Storm status 

  • A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for St. Martin. 

 

Hotel status 

  • As of this advisory, all hotels are operating normally with no change. 

 

Airport status 

 

  • Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in St. Martin, remains open and operating normally. 
  • All airports in the Dominican Republic are open and operating normally. 

 

 

Amstar Staff  

  • Hotel representatives are on duty and assisting customers.
  • Airport representatives are on duty and assisting customers. Transfer services are operating normally. 
  • Office staff are on duty and assisting customers. 

 

Excursions/Activities 

  • St. Martin: All tours canceled for Saturday due to expected heavy rain.
  • Dominican Republic: Saona Island excursions are on hold for Sunday and Monday.
