On this Tulum Jungle Maya tour, you’ll get the best of two worlds as culture and adventure come together. Explore the mysterious Maya ruins of Tulum, and later go explore the jungle and choose from thrilling activities such as zip lining, rappelling, riding a 4x4 and, of course, dipping in the cool crystal-clear waters of a cenote (freshwater sinkhole) to snorkel or just swim.

Description

Travel back in time at Tulum

Following pick-up at your resort, get started with a visit to Tulum, an archaeological wonder that dates back to the 13th century. These fascinating structures are seeping with Maya history and are set on the edge of an incredibly turquoise Mexican Caribbean Sea, whose wonderful panoramas really make this site stand out.

Feel like the ruler of an ancient kingdom as you explore the majestic grounds where you’ll take on the magic of Maya history. There’s a lot to see from El Castillo, the temple built as a watchtower at the cliff top, to the Temple of Paintings (Templo de las Pinturas), with its partially restored mural, plus several other well-preserved structures.

From historic to euphoric — 4x4, zip line, rappel and snorkel!

Next up, hop back on your vehicle to head out to the jungle for a variety of thrilling activities on the Tulum Jungle Maya tour. Start out by riding across the bumpy terrain aboard 4x4 Mercedes Benz Unimogs. Also, reach for the skies on the zip line and fly through and above the forest canopy.

Then, strap on some gear and rappel 40 feet down to swim and snorkel in Yaxmuul, a pristine cenote with crystal clear waters and beautiful rock formations. And for more underground fun, visit the Nohoch Nah Chiich cave, the amazing entrance to the Sac-Actun system, the world’s longest underwater river.

Complete your adventure with a Maya experience

The final part of your Tulum Jungle Maya tour is a purifying ceremony performed by a local shaman. You’ll be in a dry cave as the mystic man uses incense for a sacred Maya ritual that helps cleanse your body and soul.

To wrap up your day of adventure, refuel with a Yucatan style lunch that will let you delight in the local flavors. When you’re finished, transportation will take you back to your resort before evening time.
