Marietas Islands Hidden Beach Adventure from Puerto Vallarta
The Marietas Islands tour begins early in the morning with departures from Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta. As you navigate across Banderas Bay, the coastline slowly disappears, and the protected islands come into view. The boat ride gives you time to prepare for a morning focused on exploration and marine scenery.Once you arrive near the islands, guides explain safety procedures and access regulations for the protected area. The Marietas Islands are known for unique volcanic formations, wildlife habitats, and restricted visitor access. This controlled entry helps preserve one of the region’s most recognized natural attractions.
Swim Through the Cave to Reach Hidden Beach
One of the most memorable moments of the Marietas Islands experience is accessing Hidden Beach, also known as Playa del Amor. To enter, you swim through a natural water tunnel beneath a rocky opening. The route is short but active, requiring attention to guide instructions and sea conditions.Inside, you reach a small beach surrounded by rock walls open to the sky above. The enclosed setting creates a quiet atmosphere that feels separated from the outside coastline. Time at the beach is limited and regulated, which helps maintain the condition of the area and keeps the experience controlled.
Snorkeling, Bird Watching, and Coastal Wildlife
After visiting Hidden Beach, you continue with snorkeling activities around the islands. Clear water conditions allow you to observe fish and underwater rock formations. Guides remain nearby and help coordinate movement within the protected marine zone. The tour also includes bird watching, as the islands serve as a nesting area for several seabird species. You return to shore around midday after a structured excursion that combines swimming, wildlife observation, and access to one of the most recognizable beaches in Mexico.
