Finish your day with a visit to nearby Valladolid, whose colorful buildings and small town charm will take you to bygone colonial times.

Experience the splendor of Chichen Itza

Starting with a private transfer from your resort early in the morning, you’ll be on the road to the majestic archaeological site of Chichen Itza. When you arrive to this pre-Columbian Mayan city, located in the Yucatan jungle, you’ll be stunned by plenty of intricately built structures, most notably the towering Temple of Kukulcan pyramid.

Your private guide will show you around the expansive grounds and you’ll learn about the other ruins on the site, including the Observatory, the Temple of Warriors and the great Ball Court. WIth so much history and ancient mystery, you’ll see why Chichen Itza is a UNESCO World Heritage site, designated in 2001 as one of the ‘New 7 Wonders of the World’.

Swim in a cenote and visit Valladolid

After taking in the best of Chichen Itza, hop back on your air-conditioned vehicle and ride toward a nearby cenote, a natural sinkhole with clear, refreshing groundwaters. You’ll swim in these sacred waters, which the Mayans considered a channel to their gods in the underworld.

After lunch (not included), the next stop of your private excursion will be the magical town of Valladolid, known for its colonial allure and radiant facades. Enjoy a more relaxed pace as you explore the town’s square, surrounded by lively colored buildings and churches, plus the same cobblestone streets where Spanish conquistadors walked centuries before. Take your final photos of this quaint town before your private vehicle gives you a comfortable ride back to your resort.
