The river is known for its legendary pale blue color that local folklore explains is the result of the gods cleansing their brushes in the river’s water as they painted the sky blue. The actual reason for the special hue of the river is a result of a chemical mixture of sulfur and carbonate, which originates in the nearby Tenorio Volcano. Finally, enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant in the middle of the rainforest after a satisfying day full of beauty and adventure!
