Description
Drive your ATV to Cozumel’s Jade Caverns
Your adventure begins when you arrive to the welcome station at the Mayan town of El Cedral, tucked away in the wilderness of Cozumel island. Your knowledgeable guides will be there to gear you up and give you a safety briefing, getting you ready to drive your ATV through the rugged jungle. Once you’re in the driver’s seat, hit the gas pedal, follow your guide and head out into the wilderness through uneven back roads and inside plenty of green vegetation. If it rained recently, don’t be surprised if you drive through mud and get all wet and dirty — that’s definitely part of the fun!
To clean up from your all-terrain journey, and to add refreshment to your huge adrenaline rush, you’ll get to make a splash at the Jade Cavern Cenote. This sinkhole is well known on the island for its incredible jade-colored waters, the natural hue accentuated by the greenery all around you. Swim or float in these peaceful waters, or jump from a nice height if you’re feeling even more valiant, and let the sounds of nature envelop you. Make sure you look up at the rock formations and stalactites dripping from the ceiling of the cavern, admiring how the impressive power of nature can shape caverns for thousands of years.
Visit Coral Cave Caverns and feel more adrenaline
The next stop on your Cozumel ATV adventure is Coral Cave Caverns, where you’ll get to admire more of the astounding displays of geology that took many millennia to form. When you’ve gotten your fill of natural exploration and geology, get ready for more exhilaration as you hit the bumpy trails at top speed on your ATV once more. Let the wind rush across your face and the excitement pump through your body, until it’s time to return to El Cedral to take a nice break before saying goodbye to your hosts and to the Cozumel jungle that gave you such an exhilarating expedition.
