Description
Trilling ride to paradise!
You will be visiting the superstar of offshore islands in the Dominican Republic, Saona Island. This is indeed one kind of paradise in the Dominican Republic. Shallow water, beautiful beaches, swaying palm trees, usually enough space for everyone. Once the transportation brings you to the visitors’ center on the beach of Bayahibe from where you will get on board a comfortable catamaran or Motomaran, the adventure begins! After leaving Bayahibe, you will be cruising along the coastline of the Eastern National Park. On the way to Saona Island, you will stop at a famous natural swimming pool. This large sandbank is well-known because the water is shallow, even far from the shore and the colors of the water are incredible turquoise and blue. After this refreshing stop, we follow the coastline on our way to our reserved and protected beach on Saona Island. When you get to Saona Island, you will rest on a beautiful beach lined with palm trees and gifted with crystal clear water and pure white sand. This is your opportunity to discover the real Caribbean going on this perfect getaway.
A traditional Dominican lunch awaits you
You will enjoy a typical Dominican lunch, with grilled chicken, pork chops, grilled beef steak, shrimp skewers, rice with peas, steamed potatoes, pomodoro spaghetti, and an array of salads, kinds of pasta, and fruits. Don’t miss the tropical fruit dessert.
Sea turtle educational project
We also visit the sea turtle project, so you can learn a bit more regarding the precious turtles that lay their eggs on Saona during the year. Though we can not guarantee that there will be small turtles (we cannot force mother nature). The idea is to create consciousness and education about these beautiful animals.
Last but not least
The last stop is the highlight of the excursion, a secluded beach away from the crowds. This beach has it all: all white sand and crystal-clear waters in its most beautiful colors. You will have time to relax on this secluded beach that only a few can enjoy. In the late afternoon, return via Motomaran or Catamaran to Bayahibe and then drop off at your hotel.
