Headline
Think you need to snorkel or swim to get near the schools of colorful fish swimming among the coral in Cancun’s reefs? Think again! Instead, you can stay dry and still get the same views from your comfortable seat in a unique submarine, the SubSee Explorer. This Cancun submarine tour is a cross between a glass-bottom boat and a submarine, providing you with up-close views of sea life and sculptures submerged under the waves.
Description
Set off on a unique Cancun submarine tour
Departing from AquaWorld, board this bright yellow SubSee where you will descend below its deck to a windowed area where every seat has an underwater view. Your Cancun submarine tour is air-conditioned, includes soft drinks and cerveza, and is a great way for you and small children to see a natural reef, which is a home to a variety of marine life and fish, including sea anemones, starfish, lobster and crabs.
Explore the Cancun Underwater Museum
Unique to your Cancun submarine tour is a chance to see Cancun’s Underwater Museum. This one-of-a-kind museum was created by British sculpture artist Jason DeCaires Taylor and features statues and art by Taylor and Cuban sculpture artist Elier Amado Gil. The entire project, created to become a reef habitat to increase sea life to the area, consists of 477 sculptures in Manchones reef and 23 sculptures in Punta Nizuc. You’ll visit Punta Nizuc and sail past seven of its biggest sculptures before returning to AquaWorld and concluding your unique excursion.
