Practical Information

  • Clothing to bring: Swimsuit, water shoes and a change of clothes.
  • Items to bring: Money for tips, snacks, and souvenirs (tipping is optional), a valid ID and a reusable bottle.
  • The client must complete the required application forms and provide proof of any medical or mental conditions. A medical release form is mandatory—written and signed by a PADI or DAN-approved doctor— confirming the client is fit to participate in diving activities.
  • For safety reasons, if the medical form indicates any condition that poses a risk, the activity will be canceled.
  • Participants must be in good physical and mental health.
  • A medical clearance from a PADI or DAN-certified doctor (issued within the last 30 days) is required if the client has or has had any of the following: Respiratory issues (e.g., asthma, chronic sinusitis, rhinitis, history of lung collapse), neurological or circulatory conditions (e.g., high blood pressure), balance disorders or diabetes, anxiety, claustrophobia, or other mental health concerns, major surgery within the past year.
  • If the person has a medical condition—such as a recent colonoscopy, surgery within the last 8 months, high blood pressure, diabetes, mental health concerns, or is over 75 years of age—they must provide a DAN medical release form confirming they are in suitable condition to participate in the activity.
  • Marine Park Fee: Approximately $11 USD per person, payable in cash.
  • Pier Access Fee: Varies by location, ranging from $5 to $12 USD.
  • Photographer services are not included in the price.

Excursion Options

1. E-Learning Open Water:

Duration: 3-4 hours each day | 3 days

This course is for people who want to get their scuba certification. You complete the theory online before traveling, and once in Cozumel, you do the practical part: confined water skills and four open water dives.

It’s a full PADI Open Water certification course. Includes all scuba gear, instruction, and certification. Participants must be at least 10 years old and in good health.


2. Resort Course on the reef:

Duration: Approximately 3–4 hours

This is a beginner-level scuba experience for people who are not certified. It includes a short theory session, practice in shallow water, and one guided dive on a shallow reef.

No experience or certification is required. It’s ideal for first-time divers who want to try scuba diving without committing to a full course. All equipment is included.


3. Resort Course on the beach:

Duration: Approximately 3–4 hours

Similar to the reef dive, but the entire activity is done from the beach. Includes a basic introduction, shallow water practice, and an optional guided dive in a nearby area.

It’s best for people who prefer a calmer setting. No prior experience or certification is needed. Equipment is included.


4. Full Open Water Certification:

Duration: 3-4 hours each day |3 days

This is the complete PADI Open Water Diver course with in-person theory, confined water sessions, and four open water dives.

It’s for people who want to become certified divers from start to finish. Includes study materials, instructor time, equipment, and PADI certification.


5. Advanced Open Water Certification:

Duration: 3-4 hours per day | 2 to 3 days

This course is for already certified Open Water divers who want to continue their training. It includes five specialty dives, like deep and navigation dives.

No classroom work is required—just diving. Ideal for improving your skills and accessing more advanced dive sites. Includes all equipment and certification processing.


6. Open Water Referral Course:

Duration: 3-4 hours per day | 2 days

This is for people who have already completed their theory and confined water sessions elsewhere. You finish the course with four open water dives in Cozumel.

Includes all required dives, instructor guidance, and certification paperwork. Bring your referral form from your original dive shop. Equipment is provided.
