Meet your divemaster guide!

Your PADI-certified divemaster guide will welcome you at the Cozumel local pier before boarding you into our 50-ft motor-sailing catamaran. During transit, your snorkeling guide will hand you the mandatory snorkel equipment and instruct you on all rules and preventive hand signaling. Afterward, follow him into the ocean. You will awe at the vibrant and abundant marine life.

The amazing reef structures at the Colombia reef is a perfect site to spot some Caribbean rays and huge sponges. Then you will visit the Palancar reef. A gentle current and well-behaved schools of colored Caribbean fish will welcome you at this natural marine nursery.

Enjoy Playa Mia Grand Beach Park

After the snorkeling activity, the bar on board is open for a well-deserved, ice-cold draft beer, a salty margarita or a refreshing rum punch mix. It is also time to weigh anchor for Cozumel’s favorite beach location: Playa Mia Grand Beach Park. There, after the buffet lunch, you are welcome to explore the park and sunbathe on the beach or splash into the pools. Thrill at the 200-foot long Twin Twister Water slides or engage in any of the 20+ complimentary services and attractions included.

There are also optional amenities, such as an a-la-carte menu, cash bar, massage, wave runners, parasailing, fish therapy, and others, are available for an additional fee. Ask your host for prices.

Later, when it is time to go back. As your catamaran leisurely navigates back along the coast, you're welcome to sunbathe, snooze, or enjoy the sea breeze on deck until the crew cast ropes back at the pier.

Practical Information

  • here are some extra cost services inside Playa Mia
  • IMPORTANT: Playa Mia is committed to protecting the ocean environment and Cozumel’s vast coral reefs; therefore, the use of any type of sunscreen, sunblock, or suntan lotion which could eventually make its way into the ocean is no longer allowed. All guests must wipe-off any sun lotion residues or shower BEFORE entering either the ocean or Playa Mia’s pools. We suggest the use of long-sleeved UV-filtering shirts, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. Coral, fish and all other sea creatures thank you for your cooperation!
  • We strongly recommend, DO NOT TOUCH THE MARINE LIFE.
  • Buffet is served from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • This excursion is not available for guests in wheelchair or guests with walking or mobility difficulties.
  • According to Marine Parks, Colombia and Palancar will be visited from January 1, 2020 - March 31, 2020. Subject to change.
  • Participants must comply with all of the instructions given by the vessel’s captain and/or his crew.
  • Participants must comply with all instructions given by tour guides at all times.
  • Participants must comply with the Cozumel Reefs National Marine Park rules of use.
  • Participants must comply with the specific rules of each individual activity inside the Playa Mia Grand Beach Park.
  • All participants must be self-sufficient proficient Swimmers and in good health.
  • All participants must be able to stay afloat for 90-minutes or more.
  • Participants must be able to descend and ascend boat ladder(s) for the snorkeling activity.
  • The use of a LIFE VEST during the snorkeling activity is MANDATORY, No exception.
  • This tour is not an available tour for people in a wheelchair.
  • THIS TOUR IS NOT ALLOWED FOR NON-SWIMMERS, PEOPLE UNDER MEDICATION SUCH AS ANTIDEPRESSANTS, LITHIUM, RECENT SURGERIES, BETA-BLOCKERS OR BASE (VEIN) CONSTRICTORS OR IMPAIRED FOR PREGNANCY, ASTHMA, HEART CONDITIONS, DIABETES, SEIZURES, RESPIRATORY CONDITIONS, BLOOD PRESSURE CONDITIONS, BACK/NECK/LIMB/JOINT INJURIES, OR THOSE WITH MOBILITY LIMITATIONS/ ANY LIMITATION ON MOTOR SKILLS.
  • All participants must sign a Waiver.
  • Alcoholic Beverages will be served only AFTER the Snorkeling activity.
  • The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old. Minors will not be served alcohol, even with parental consent.
  • Playa Mia may require, at its sole discretion, a valid photo ID as proof of age for the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Playa Mia reserves the right to refuse service of alcoholic beverages to guests that appear intoxicated, are unruly or underage.
  • This is a STRENUOUS activity level excursion.
  • Maximum weight is 250 lbs. /115 kg to snorkel.
  • The number of non-motorized water toys offered complies with Cozumel’s National Marine Park regulations.
  • The participation in any and/or all of the services and attractions offered by the Tour Operator is entirely at the guest’s sole discretion, risk, and responsibility.
  • Unassisted use of sailboats will be subject to approval by Tour Operator. Guests will need to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for their own-safe and responsible use.
  • Some beach services and attractions may be subject to age, height and/or weight requirements/restrictions.
  • The use of any and/or all non-motorized water toys will be subject to and in accordance with the laws, terms and conditions of use mandated by the Tour Operator, Local, State and Federal Authorities.
  • Non-motorized water toys, services, and activities are offered on a first-come,-first-serve basis.

  • Water Park Restrictions Included, But Are Not Limited To:
  • All children under 12 years old and all non-swimmers must be accompanied and supervised one-on-one by a parent or legal guardian who must remain in the water within arm’s reach of the child or non-swimmer at all times. Older children should not be left in charge of younger children in the pool area.
  • Height and weight restrictions for the Buccaneers’ Bay Water Toys:
  • Maximum height - 1.2 meter or 3 feet 11 inches
  • Maximum weight for children slides- 60 KG or 132 LB
  • Height and weight restrictions for the Twin Twister Waterslides
  • Minimum height - 1 meter or 3 feet 3 inches
  • Maximum weight - 113 KG or 250 LB
  • The use of pools and slides is not allowed for guests with any skin disease, lesions, infections, open sores, inflamed eyes, cold, nasal or ear discharge, communicable disease, or who have any considerable area of exposed sub-skin tissue, open blisters, cuts, and/or who are wearing any kind of bandage or Band-Aid.
  • Shoes of any kind are not permitted in the pools or on the slides.
  • A maximum of 8 guests at a time is permitted in the Hydro Massage Tub.
  • The use of waterslides is not allowed for guests afraid of heights, recent surgeries, people who suffer from panic/anxiety attacks, people under the influence of alcohol or while impaired by medications, pregnant and nursing women, guests with medical conditions such as heart conditions, back, neck, joint or muscular injuries, or guests with special needs or medical prevention.

  • Floating Park Restrictions
  • Guests must be aware of the game´s linking intersection and surfaces.
  • All children under 12 years old and all non-swimmers must be accompanied and supervised one-on-one by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Guests must be aware of signs on the games.
  • Pushing, acrobatics, wrestling, violence, any improper conduct or acts that might endanger the welfare of oneself or other visitors are not allowed.
  • Admission to the Floating Park may be refused to any person who is believed to be under the influence of alcohol, impaired by any drug or medication, or who is believed to create an unsafe environment for others.
  • Guests must obey the instructions of the lifeguards or other park staff. Eyeglasses are not permitted. In cases of absolute necessity, non-breakable lenses and frames may be permitted.
  • The floating park is not allowed for guests afraid of heights, people under the influence of alcohol or while impaired by medications, pregnant and nursing women, recent surgeries, people who suffer from panic/anxiety attacks, guests with medical conditions such as heart conditions, back, neck, joint or muscular injuries, or guests with special needs or medical prevention.
  • Visitors are obliged to use an appropriate bathing suit that is free of rivets, zippers or other metallic accessories that may scratch the surface of the Floating Park.
  • The Floating Park may be evacuated and disabled at any time in order to ensure the safety and well-being of guests.
  • All injuries should be reported to the park staff immediately.
