Find out what makes St. Ann’s Bay so special, paying respect to Bob Marley’s birth and burial place, Nine Miles, as well as soaking up all the culture and heritage this beautiful town has to offer. Reggae culture is rich and interesting, a way of life that seeks to promote love, peace and political awareness.

Pay tribute to the King of Reggae culture

You will begin by driving along the north coast before turning inland to the mountains. There, you will see your first glimpse of Nine Miles, a quaint village tucked away in beautiful scenery. It was here, on February 6, 1945, that the legendary Bob Marley was born and it is the very same place where he was laid to rest. If you are looking for reggae culture, you have found the right place.

A glimpse into reggae history

A tour of Nine Miles is a family affair, as many of Bob's close relatives still live there. The tour takes you through the house he lived in as a young boy, which is now a museum and gallery.

Your guide will share with you insights into Bob Marley's childhood and musical career as you glance at the gold records that line the walls. With memorabilia and instruments giving a personal insight into the mind of a musical genius, this is one museum you will not forget during your lifetime.

Revive yourself, in more ways than one

Next, it is time to immerse yourself even more in Jamaica’s reggae culture. You will return to St. Ann through the hills, making a stop at one of Jamaica's Revival Churches, where mind, body and soul meet. Experience this rich heritage and culture that originated on the island; the passion will captivate you from beginning to end.

Finally, your last stop will be at a tasteful Jamaican Jerk Center where you will enjoy a traditional meal. Can you handle the heat?
