The renowned explorer Jacques Cousteau rediscovered Cozumel and its wonderful waters around 1960. He pointed out to the world that this area in Mexico is one of the greatest for diving thanks to its clear waters and abundant marine life. In Cozumel you don’t even have to dive deep (or scuba dive at all!) to find tropical fish, exotic plants and amazing animals.
Cozumel is widely known for its clear blue waters and white-sand beaches. Around the island you will find many wonderful spots full of nature’s greatest treasures. One of the most beautiful we have is the Cielo reef, a true piece of heaven on Earth! (Heaven being what the Spanish word cielo means.)
To enjoy a truly unique view from a vantage point in Cozumel, don’t hesitate to visit the lighthouse at the Punta Sur eco-park. You’ll capture the best pictures from up there and will even get a chance to visit an interesting nautical museum!
The Chankanaab natural park is another amazing place you won’t want to miss. You can walk through a botanical garden, watch local wildlife, contemplate the beauty of the Chankanaab lagoon and relax in its cool waters… Even swim with dolphins, manatees, sharks and enjoy a sea lion show!
Sea turtles have chosen the coasts of Cozumel to come and lay their eggs year after year. For us this is a great blessing and many environmental programs constantly monitor this activity from May to October. They collect the eggs and keep them safe until the baby turtles are born. Then, the turtles are safely released to the sea.
These are some of the tours you can easily experience in Cozumel. Just ask your Amstar Rep to help you organize one of these tours or activities or give us a call.
