General Information
Los Cabos, one of the most beautiful and exclusive destinations in Mexico, is located at the end of the Baja California Peninsula. Consisting of three distinct localities: Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor that runs between them; the area had primarily been a playground for the rich and famous. In recent years however, Los Cabos has been enjoying an explosion of notoriety and a significant boom of development has arrived; featuring word-class resorts, luxurious marinas and fine dining options.
Restaurants
Like any vibrant town located on the ocean, most of Los Cabos restaurants feature an impressive array of fresh fish and seafood as the foundation of their menu. The regional fare offers an impressive list of unique dishes including stuffed crab and shrimp, “machaca” – a burrito stuffed with, tasty dried meat and the popular “arrachera”.
Nightlife
Although Los Cabos has long boasted an excellent night life, it has really come into its own the last several years. When you put together the nocturnal offerings of Cabo San Lucas, the Tourist Corridor and San Jose, the result is what many people refer to as the “Wild, Wild West” of Mexican night life.
Shopping
Los Cabos, while not noted for a specific regional craft or product, does offer an excellent array of shopping choices throughout the destination. A wide assortment of souvenirs and gifts from Mexico are sold everywhere and include clothing, hats, leather products, pottery, jewelry, hand-blown glass items, etc.
